I still feel and remember Roger's support, kindness and friendship. Crossing paths with Roger is one of life's gifts. Wishing all the family strength and comfort.

For many years, Roger was such a big part of our lives and his larger than life personality, kindness and energy meant we had a great fondness for him. Not only did he employ Pauline and myself, meaning we could eventually marry, but he also travelled across the world to be at our wedding. Roger will be sadly missed. My family and I all have wonderful memories of times spent together both in the UK and here in Oz. His home and hospitality were generously extended to many stray Aussies when they visited London. Will be sadly missed

Roger was always kind to me, in an un-showy way. He seemed to have more confidence in my abilities than I had in myself! I can't remember seeing him in a bad mood, there was often a twinkle in his eye. And whenever I write on the back of an envelope, I think of him! I believe he had more insight than was often acknowledged. He led such a full, varied life and I'm glad for that. Thinking back, he must have had incredible energy. His enthusiasms didn't seem to wane. You are a man to remember, Roger. Rest in peace.

A wonderful man. As a long standing Chairman Roger worked with brilliance, successfully steering GB Teams when finance was seriously awkward and at the same time maximising the growth rate in Div 4 to approaching a thousand racers. Slalom flourished.

Very sad news and a great loss to canoeing.

Sad news, indeed. My generation was so fortunate to have so many legends in the sport. Athletes, Coaches, Parents, Volunteers, Organizers and Administrators. Roger was definitely a legend.

Total respect from all who knew Roger. Proud to call him a friend. RIP

A great gentleman and always looking for a positive outcome to every situation. As athletes of that generation we were supported by many servants to the sport who only wanted the best for us and Roger was definitely one of those. He will be sorely missed.

Roger was my first Headteacher; we started at Canons High School on the same day in September 1987. He was always very kind and supportive and I learnt a lot from him. May he rest in peace.

Condolences to all in the Annan family. His story in canoeing is closely intertwined with my own families involvement. He made a huge contribution to slalom because he wanted to not because he had to. Respect for everything he achieved to put UK slalom at the forefront of the home and international stage. He was always personally kind to me as an individual. No doubt others will feel the same. RIP Roger

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
